The Many Moods of the Tetons

A front blew in last night and it snowed in the Tetons. It was an interesting snow because it fell to within about 75 feet of the valley floor. So we didn’t have to worry about bad roads but we got to see beautiful, snow covered mountains. It was still cloudy this morning and it snowed several times during the day but it didn’t stick. The clouds were moving pretty fast so we decided to do some time lapses in several different spots to get the Tetons at several different angles.

The following two photos are part of a time lapse done at the Snake River Overlook. You can just see the tip top of the Grand in the second photo.

The following 3 photos were taken at the Oxbow. Mt. Moran is in the center.

This last photo was taken at sunset with a 80 mm lens from Schwabacker’s Landing. The next time you get to the Tetons go to Dornan’s before sunset and sit up on their upstairs deck. Get a glass of wine and a pizza and watch the show. You won’t regret it.
