You probably know this is baby time in Yellowstone. Many of the bison babies were born almost 2 months ago and most of the elk babies are close to a month old, but there are still some new pronghorn and big horn sheep babies. This big horn sheep baby was in a really cliffy area just west of Tower Falls. It was prancing around and seeming to enjoy itself when I realized there was a young adult male that was irritated with it. The male kept trying to push the baby off the cliff. I wonder if the male was the babies big brother and was jealous Mom was giving the baby more attention than the male. I don’t know that but I do know that adult male was miffed. What was amazing was the way the baby stood up to the male. If he makes it, that baby is going to be one tough adult!

We will be traveling to the Great Falls area tomorrow and won’t be back until Sunday night. I will try to post something but no promises.
