I return to Grand Teton National park time and time again, to drink in the magnificent beauty of the Teton mountain range and listen to the sound of the Snake river as it meanders through the landscape.
Each visit is filled with hopes of sunrise, sunset, bears and the hope of all hopes, wolves. No sunrise, sunset or wolves so far on this trip. But, the snow covered mountains never fail to renew my love for the outdoors and my commitment to nature.
Things are a little slow and so I covered all of the open roads of the park, looking for that something special but today was not the day. Today was a day for renewal of energy and reflection, with a few photo ops thrown in – from the Oxbow first thing in the morning to the grizzly boar making his way across the landscape, not far from where my day began.
From Oxbow to Colter bay where a stump and its roots protruding from the snow, near the lake, captured my imagination and I walked out for a closer look.
Later, I found the moose hanging out near Mormon Row.
And this meadowlark singing on the other side of the road.
And, in Kelly I found a pair of bluebirds.
And, for the grand finale, the grizzly boar left the carcass and began wandering about.
All in all, it was another great day in the Tetons.
What a beautiful day for you Deby…you were blessed for sure
How wonderful to see all of that a great time for renewal!!! Tx
Great photos, as always, Deby. I especially like the grizzly one. He has an expression that seems to say ” What”? Have a great time, and hopefully get some rest.
